Pursuit of Happiness

Team Members: Ariana Mendible & Isabel Scherl

Since 2005, the World Happiness Report has surveyed 156 countries on their perceived happiness. Measures of happiness are built from various responses to the survey, including perceptions of support from family and friends, political corruption, and freedom to make life choices. The resulting "happiness" metric is plotted against Log gross domestic product (GPD) per capita and healthy life expectancy (HLE) at birth for global regions and individual countries.

Click on a region to isolate it, mouse over and click on a country to see its happiness score breakdown, and scroll through time to see how the ratings or factors have changed from 2006-2017. Click anywhere on the scatterplot to return to the default view.
